You know those chunky sugar cookies that are strategically placed at the entrance of the bakery on child sized tables. The ones that are slathered with thick, brightly colored icing and covered with tons of sprinkles. The ones that cost around $6.00 for a dozen and are full of ingredients that are difficult to pronounce? Every time my kids are with me they beg me for a tray of these cookies, I usually say no but once in a while I cave and purchase a box for them. I have to admit, I really do like these cookies but I have such a hard time justifying the cost. This Valentine’s Day I decided to look for a recipe to make at home before they filled those little tables with hot pink and red cookies. I searched the web until I came across this recipe one one of my favorite cooking blogs, Annie Eats. I excitedly ran to the kitchen and whipped up a batch of these wonderful cookies. As soon as the icing was set I started distributing them to friends and family to collect opinions and it was unanimous, EVERYONE. LOVED. THEM!!! In fact, two days later I started receiving calls request ion that I make another batch! I hope that you will try them and enjoy them as much as we do!!
Happy Valentine’s Day
